Sources: Portsmouth, QPR and MK Dons in race to sign Ethan Erhahon

Queens Park Rangers, Portsmouth and MK Dons are chasing St Mirren midfielder Ethan Erhahon, Football Insider understands.

The 21-year-old has impressed in Scotland this season and his performances have brought him on to the radar of English clubs.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Portsmouth have held a long-term interest in Erhahon and are lining up a summer move.

QPR and MK Dons watched the Scotland Under-21 international in action last weekend in St Mirren’s 2-0 Scottish Premiership win over Dundee (7 May).

That was his 26th appearance across all competitions this season for the Buddies and his 94th senior career appearance.

Erhahon is set to enter the final 12 months of his St Mirren contract this summer so they could be vulnerable to losing him.

Manager Stephen Robinson has already bolstered his midfield ranks with the pre-contract signings of Mark O’Hara from Motherwell and Keanu Baccus from Western Sydney Wanderers.

Erhahon previously spent time in England with Barnsley’s Under-23s squad after joining on loan in January 2020 but he did not feature for the senior side.

Portsmouth will be looking to break into the League One play-off places next season after a 10th-place finish this season.

It will be a summer of transition for QPR in the Championship after they confirmed last month that manager Mark Warburton would leave the club and be replaced.

Football Insider revealed on Wednesday (11 May) that Birmingham City have held preliminary talks with Warburton about taking over from Lee Bowyer.

In other news, Portsmouth will offer a 24-year-old a new deal to stay at Fratton Park.
