Liverpool legend Jordan Henderson is keen to quit Saudi Pro League side Al Ettifaq and return to England this month, sources have told Football Insider.

The 33-year-old will have to take a huge wage drop to come back to the Premier League - just months after leaving Anfield for Saudi Arabia in a mega-money deal.

Nevertheless, a well-placed source has told Football Insider that multiple English top-flight sides are ready to sign Henderson this month - if his price tag and wage demands are reasonable.

Liverpool

Tottenham and Chelsea are among the clubs to be widely linked with a potential move for the England international.

Henderson is believed to be mindful that he will have to play regular football at a good level if he is to make Gareth Southgate's Three Lions squad for the European Championships later this year.

The veteran, who captains Steven Gerrard's Al Ettifaq, has made 19 appearances across all competitions this term - notching five assists.

He left Liverpool for a reported £12million plus add-ons last summer after playing 43 times across all competitions in the 2022-23 campaign.

The central midfielder won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup during his 12-year spell on Merseyside.

Henderson racked up 492 appearances during his time at Anfield, scoring 33 goals and notching 61 assists.

He has also made 81 appearances for England and has kept his place in the Three Lions side for recent games despite his unpopular move to Saudi Arabia.
