Sources: Premier League inundated with calls from fuming clubs demanding Aston Villa star Hause is banned
The Premier League has been inundated with calls from fuming clubs about Aston Villa star Kortney Hause, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
Officials from leading top-flight teams have been in contact demanding to know why the defender’s forearm smash on Pablo Fornals in Sunday’s defeat to West Ham went unpunished.
An industry source has told Football Insider that clubs want to know why Hause did not get a straight red for the incident after it was reviewed by VAR.
The feeling among Premier League clubs is the centre-back should be facing at least a three-match ban and probably much longer.
Officials want greater clarity on how VAR is being operated by the League in instances such as the Hause controversy.
Former Premier League referee and Football Insider columnist Keith Hackett told this site on Monday that he had his doubts VAR checked the incident properly.

Hackett insisted the Aston Villa defender should have been sent off.
Instead, Ezri Konsa was shown a red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity just moments after the Hause incident.
Konsa will now miss Aston Villa’s crucial games against Southampton, Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace.
Hause‘s inclusion in the starting XI came as a surprise as Dean Smith decided to axe his captain Tyrone Mings.
He lined up alongside Konsa in a back-four as Smith ditched the three-at-the-back system he had used in the previous six Premier League games.
It did not stop West Ham from running out 4-1 winners at Villa Park to inflict a fourth consecutive league defeat on Villa as the pressure grows on Smith.
