Aymeric Laporte is a target for Paris Saint-Germain with a Man City exit possible this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Those with knowledge of the 28-year-old's situation have revealed that he won't be short of suitors if he moves on - but he is likely to move away from the Premier League.

Laporte is no longer part of Pep Guardiola’s first-choice centre-back partnership and it is believed that he will look for a new club at the end of the season.

The Spain international has started just six Premier League games this season – playing fewer minutes than all of his fellow centre-backs at Man City.

The Citizens are likely to take a loss on the reported £57.2million fee they paid Athletic Club to sign Laporte in 2018.

Football Insider revealed earlier this month (9 March) that Man City's asking price for the defender is around the £40million mark.

Guardiola's side have been linked with a potential move for 21-year-old RB Leipzig superstar Josko Gvardiol- and selling Laporte would raise funds for that transfer.

Laporte, who earns a reported wage of £120,000-a-week at the Etihad Stadium, is under contract at the club until June 2025.

The France-born defender has won four Premier League titles during his time at the club - but has been displaced in the side after the 2022 signing of Manuel Akanji.

If Laporte is to succeed in winning a fifth title, Guardiola's side must make up an eight-point deficit to leaders Arsenal with 11 games left to play.
