Aaron Ramsdale is undergoing an Arsenal medical today as he completes his move from Sheffield United, Football Insider has learned.

The London giants have reached a full agreement with the Championship club for the transfer of the goalkeeper.

An Arsenal source has told Football Insider that Ramsdale is undergoing a medical before penning a long-term contract.

The Gunners have had a bid worth £30million accepted by United after reigniting talks this week.

Ramsdale will become the latest Arsenal signing as they also put the finishing touches to the capture of Martin Odegaard.

The Gunners have previously signed Ben White, Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga this summer.

Mikel Arteta’s side have pursued Ramsdale, 23, all summer after making him their top target to challenge Bernd Leno for the number one shirt.

The stopper joined Sheffield United as a youth player in 2013.

He played every league game last season as the Blades were relegated from the top flight.

Ramsdale also started his side's first two Championship games of the season but was left out of the side that lost 4-0 to West Brom last night.

Last season's form saw him on the periphery of the England squad for this summer's European Championships.

He was called up to the 33-mn provisional squad after Dean Henderson withdrew with an injury.

However, he did not make Gareth Southgate's final squad.

Arsenal struggled in their opening Premier League games as they lost 2-0 to Brentford.

The Gunners face another tough test this weekend as they welcome Chelsea to The Emirates.
