Sources: Rangers agree Morgan Whittaker terms as Swansea City respond to new bid
Rangers have agreed personal terms with Morgan Whittaker but their latest bid has been rejected, sources have told Football Insider.
The Glasgow giants have upped their offer for the Swansea City star to £2million after previous bids of £1.5m and £1m were knocked back.
But Swansea have still refused to buckle as Rangers’ battle to get the deal over the line looks set to go down to the wire this month.
Whittaker has made it clear to Swans chiefs that he wants to join Rangers and has already agreed the terms of a contract with the club.
But it will require an improved offer, or one structured in a different way, for the Ibrox giants to add Whittaker to their earlier January capture of Todd Cantwell.
Cantwell – the Gers’ only winter signing – started in their Scottish Premiership meeting with St Johnstone on Saturday (28 January).

Whittaker shone during the first half of the season on loan at Plymouth, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists before being recalled by Swansea earlier this month.
He has racked up 16 league goals in almost 90 appearances across the Championship and League One during his spells with the Swans, Plymouth, Lincoln, and Derby.
Whittaker primarily plays on the right wing but can also be effective in an attacking midfield role.
Rangers’ wide options, including Scott Wright, Rabbi Matondo, and Ryan Kent have been in underwhelming goalscoring form this season – prompting Michael Beale to look for an upgrade.
Beale’s side still trail Celtic atop the Scottish Premiership but will have an opportunity to get one over on their rivals in the final of the Scottish League Cup on 26 February.
