Rangers sensation Cameron Scott has now agreed to sign a professional contract with the club, sources have told Football Insider.

But Rangers have persuaded Scott to stay put at Ibrox and he is now set to put pen to paper on a three-year professional deal.

That is a major boost for Rangers, who value Scott extremely highly and were keen to avoid another rising star heading south of the border.

The Scotland Under-16 international stated that he wanted to explore his options after rejecting Rangers' first contract approach.

Scott attracted interest from multiple Premier League clubs, including Southampton, but instead chose to continue his journey in Glasgow.

He joined the youth setup at Ibrox at an early age and worked his way up through the various academy teams to place himself on the brink of Michael Beale's first team.

Scott has spent the majority of the current season with the Under-17s at Ibrox, where he has caught the eye of coaching staff.

Beale has publicly spoken about his desire to inject some youth into an ageing Rangers squad this season and "re-energise" his dressing room.

"I am going to change players in this squad over time. I'm going to change the look of Rangers to move forward," Beale said.

"We are going to re-energise us with young players coming in and we've got a lot of uncertainty surrounding some of our players."

Scott's new deal at Ibrox will run until 2026, keeping the talented youngster at the club until he is 19 years old.
