Rangers have offered midfielder Arron Lyall a new long-term contract, sources have told Football Insider.

The 19-year-old is out of contract at Ibrox this summer, but the Scottish giants are keen to tie him down to an extended deal.

He has impressed the Rangers coaching staff and has recently been promoted to train with the first-team squad at the club's Auchenhowie base.

Lyall, who had a spell out on loan at Inverness Caledonian Thistle in 2021, has taken his game to a new level after being converted from a winger to the number-eight midfield role this season.

He is yet to make his first-team debut for Rangers but was named on the bench for a Europa League qualifier against Alashkert in August 2021.

The starlet has turned out for the Gers' B side on 30 occasions this season - notching nine goals and three assists.

He also played three 90-minute matches in the Under-19's UEFA Youth League campaign, scoring in the 4-3 loss against Liverpool.

Lyall will be hoping to become the latest successful Rangers academy product following his first-team promotion.

Leon King, Alex Lowry and Adam Devine are among the young stars to make the grade in recent seasons.

Lyall could have an opportunity to claim a place in the senior squad for next season as Rangers prepare to make a number of key contract decisions.
