Rangers have made a bid for Fleetwood Town striker Devante Cole as they look to beat the transfer deadline to sign the forward, Football Insider sources understand.
Cole’s is in the final six months of his contract at Fleetwood and a number of clubs are hoping to land the striker for a cut-price fee before the close of the transfer window.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Rangers have firmed up their interest in Cole by tabling a bid to Fleetwood and they are hopeful of bringing the player to Ibrox.
Cole, son of former England international Andrew, has scored 12 goals for Fleetwood so far this season and a number of Championship and League One clubs are keen on signing the former Manchester City youngster.
Rangers have been busy in this month’s transfer window as they look to close the gap on league leaders Celtic and they hope to make Cole the latest new face to arrive at Ibrox.
Cole nearly joined Championship side Sheffield United in the summer but that deal just failed to go through on deadline day last summer.
However, Cole could be on the move before Wednesday’s 11pm transfer deadline with Fleetwood bracing themselves for further offers for the forward.
