Blackpool are braced for offers for Rangers target Jerry Yates in January, sources have told Football Insider.

The Championship club are aware of strong interest in their star striker from Premier League clubs as well as the Glasgow giants.

The striker, 25, scored twice - to take him to eight this season - in Blackpool’s 4-2 Championship win over Preston last Saturday (22 October).

Blackpool value Yates at around £4million, and believe his price tag will climb if he continues to score prolifically in the Championship.

He has a contract that runs until the summer of 2024 and includes the option of a further 12 months.

Rangers boosted their striking options in the summer of 2022 by signing Antonio Colak from PAOK.

The Croatia international is the Gers’ top scorer this term with 13 goals in 20 appearances.

But Alfredo Morelos, who has been Rangers' top scorer in four of the last five campaigns, has netted just twice.

Yates signed for Blackpool from Rotherham united in July 2020 and has gone on to score 39 goals and provide 14 assists in 112 outings for the club.

He came through the ranks at Rotherham and spent time on loan at no fewer than four separate clubs before finally joining Blackpool.

Rangers

Rangers once again failed to win in the Champions League on Wednesday (26 October), losing 3-0 to Napoli.

The Gers are next in action against Aberdeen on Saturday (29 October).
