Sources: Sheffield United agree personal terms with imminent signing after offer accepted

Wes Foderingham has agreed personal terms with Sheffield United as he finalises a free transfer this weekend, Football Insider has learned.

The 29-year-old has accepted the Premier League club’s offer of a three-year contract and he is set to put pen to paper.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Foderingham’s move to Bramall Lane should be completed in the next 48 hours.

Chris Wilder has swooped for Foderingham to provide cover and competition for the goalkeeper’s position next season.

Dean Henderson has been the undisputed number over the past two seasons but he has only been on loan from Man United.

His deputy for most of this campaign has been Simon Moore, who has been at the club for four years.

Wilder has revealed his desire to re-sign Henderson on a new loan next season although that depends upon the green light from United and agreeing fresh terms.

The United manager wants senior cover in any case, with Moore out of contract in the summer of 2021.

He has made four appearances in 2019-20, including two league matches against Man United when Henderson was ineligible to play.

Rangers announced at the end of May that Foderingham was among six senior stars released when their contracts expired.

He had been expected to join an EFL club and his imminent move to Bramall Lane counts as something of a surprise given that he has barely played at Ibrox in the past two seasons due to Allan McGregor being the first choice.

In other Sheffield United news, Bournemouth are in pole position to sign striker.
