Sheffield United and Brighton have made approaches to sign West Brom winger Matt Phillips, Football Insider understands.
The Premier League duo are keen to beat top-flight new boys Aston Villa to the capture of the 28-year-old, whose future is in doubt in the final 10 days of the summer window.
United and Brighton sources have told Football Insider that the clubs have both registered their interest in landing Phillips by the 8 August cut-off.
This comes after Football Insider revealed that Villa have made a move to sign Phillips as they look to continue their extensive summer spending splurge.
Phillips has emerged as a player in demand as he has entered the final year of his Baggies contract and there has been no indication he will commit to an extension.
