Sources: Sheffield United plot move to sign Burton Albion star Terry Taylor

Sheffield United are plotting a move for Burton Albion midfielder Terry Taylor and have watched his last three games, sources have told Football Insider.

The 21-year-old has been a major player for the League One club this season and has played 1,817 minutes in all competitions so far.

Taylor is out of contract next summer and Burton are braced for interest going into the January window.

The Wales Under-21s captain made one senior appearance for Premier League outfit Wolves before signing for the third-tier outfit in January 2021.

He made the move to Molineux as a youth in 2017 after coming through the ranks at Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen.

Taylor has made 23 appearances across all competitions this season, contributing four assists for Burton.

He has started each of the last eight League One games with Burton sitting inside the third tier’s relegation zone.

The midfield star is already approaching 100 senior appearances despite his young age.

Taylor made his Brewers debut shortly after joining the club in February 2021 – following a successful loan at Grimsby Town while still on the books of Wolves.

Sheffield United sit second in the Championship as they plot a return to the Premier League at the second time of asking.

The Blades will be keen to bolster their midfield options with Sander Berge attracting top-flight interest and Tommy Doyle set to return to parent club Man City next summer.
