Sources: Sheffield Wednesday and Lincoln City race to sign QPR star Sinclair Armstrong
Sheffield Wednesday and Lincoln are battling it out to sign Queens Park Rangers striker Sinclair Armstrong, sources have told Football Insider.
QPR have fielded a number of enquiries for the 19-year-old this month and they are deciding where would be the best move for the Republic of Ireland youth international.
Wednesday and Lincoln have both registered their interest in a deal for the teenage forward.
Armstrong has made 13 first-team appearances for QPR this season and the club feel a loan is the next stage in his development.
He has started two games for the Championship club but has more regularly been used off the bench.
The striker’s current contract at Loftus Road Stadium runs until 2024 that includes the option of a further year-long extension.

Armstrong has already had two loan spells during his time at QPR.
He joined Torquay in October 2021 where he remained until January.
In April Armstrong was back out on loan, this time to Aldershot before returning to QPR in the summer.
Sheffield Wednesday are currently second in League One, three points behind Plymouth Argyle who they face on Saturday (4 February).
Wednesday also face Fleetwood in a replay next Tuesday (7 February) as they hope to progress into the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Lincoln City are at the opposite end of the table, sitting 16th in League One and have just one win in their last nine league games.
Next up they visit Accrington Stanley as they attempt to climb up the table in the second half of the season.
