Championship trio Southampton, Watford and Cardiff City are interested in taking Aston Villa youngster Lamare Bogarde on loan for the remainder of this season, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen are also ready to join the race for the 20-year-old.

All four sides have registered their interest in taking Bogarde on a temporary basis following his recall from a spell at Bristol Rovers.

Southampton

The League One outfit confirmed the midfielder's return to Villa Park on Thursday (4 January).

Now clubs including Southampton, Watford, Cardiff and Aberdeen are ready to give the Rotterdam-born star the chance to play at a higher level.

The 19-year-old made 18 appearances in all competitions for the Gas.

However, he was not given significant game time since Joey Barton was replaced by Matt Taylor in the hot seat at the Memorial Stadium in December.

Bogarde also spent the second half of last season on loan at Bristol Rovers, making 19 appearances and assisting once.

The 2004-born Dutchman joined Villa from Feyenoord in 2020 and broke through at senior level after being handed his senior debut in an FA Cup clash against Liverpool in January 2021.

Aston Villa

He is under contract with the Midlands giants until June 2025.

Bogarde, who is the nephew of ex-Chelsea and Barcelona defender Winston, could join Villa youngsters like Kaine Kesler-Hayden and Sebastian Revan in making a loan move to the Championship.
