Sources: Swansea City agree Karlan Grant deal with West Brom

Swansea City have agreed a deal to sign Karlan Grant on loan from West Brom, sources have told Football Insider.

The 25-year-old West Brom striker is set to complete a late move to Championship rivals Swansea City before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

Grant has struggled for game time at The Hawthorns since the arrival of new manager Carlos Corberan midway through the season.

Grant was a regular starter for Steve Bruce at the beginning of the 2022/23 campaign, starting in every Championship game for the Baggies until mid-October.

However, Grant hasn’t completed a full 90-minute match for West Brom in the Championship since the 2-0 loss to Sheffield United late in October.

It’s a stark contrast from the 2021/22 season, when Grant made 44 league appearances for West Brom as their star striker, scoring 18 and assisting a further six goals in that campaign.

He joined West Brom on a six-year contract in 2020 and has scored 22 total goals in 85 league appearances.

Before signing for the Baggies, Grant spent an extremely successful 18 months at Huddersfield Town where he scored 23 times in 56 Championship appearances.

Prior to his breakthrough with the Terriers, Grant spent five seasons at Charlton Athletic between 2014 and 2019, which included two loan spells at Cambridge United and Crawley Town.

He broke through at Charlton as a youngster in 2014 after spending a further five years developing his skills in the club’s academy.

In other news, Derby County have agreed a deal with Tottenham to sign youngster Harvey White on loan for the remainder of the season
