Swansea City have opened talks over signing loanee Fulham winger Domingos Quina, Football Insider understands.

Quina, 22, has endured a frustrating time at Craven Cottage and Watford are ready to recall him and agree a new loan move.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Swansea have approached Watford over a deal for the former West Ham youngster.

The Championship club are hopeful of securing an agreement before Monday’s cut-off.

Just before moving to Craven Cottage in the summer, Quina signed a new deal at Watford that will keep him at the club until 2024.

He has managed just four appearances for Fulham this term and has not made a Championship matchday squad since the beginning of October.

As quoted by West London Sport earlier this month (6 January), Marco Silva admitted it made sense for the Portugal Under-21 international to play regular football.

That could come at Swansea City who need to add attacking reinforcements as Jamie Paterson's situation remains up in the air.

Paterson has missed the Swans' last three games and is training with the club's Under-23s amid a dispute over his contract.

His absent was keenly felt on Tuesday (25 January) when Russell Martin's side played out a 0-0 draw with Queens Park Rangers.

Quina could offer Swansea some much-needed creativity in the second half of the season.

He played 16 times for Watford as they earned automatic promotion from the Championship last season and he also has 12 Premier League appearances to his name.
