Sources: Thomas Tuchel is 'huge' Harry Kane fan - already pushing Bayern Munch to sign Tottenham star

Thomas Tuchel is pushing Bayern Munich to bid for Tottenham star Harry Kane this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The 49-year-old was hired by the Bundesliga giants on Friday afternoon after Julian Nagelsmann was sacked.

It is understood that Tuchel is a huge fan of Kane from his time in the Premier League managing Chelsea, and immediately communicated to the Bayern board that the Spurs striker is his top transfer priority.

Kane is entering the final year of his contract in North London, but Spurs will still demand a £100million-plus fee for him to leave the club this summer.

Man United are also interested in launching a bid to sign Kane this summer, but Tuchel’s appointment at Bayern presents a major threat to their chances of landing him.

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is expected to imminently leave the club, whether it be through a sacking or leaving in the summer upon the expiration of his contract.

The new managerial appointment at Spurs will be crucial to Kane’s future – Football Insider sources understand the England captain would consider signing a new contract with Tottenham if Nagelsmann is hired.

Kane recently became the Spurs all-time scorer, with his strike against Man City in early February helping him to surpass Sir Jimmy Greaves’ tally of 266.

Kane is still in pursuit of Alan Shearer’s 260-goal record in the Premier League, with the Spurs striker currently on 204.

It is believed that Kane would prefer a move to another Premier League club should he leave Spurs, but the attraction of silverware at Bayern is also a tempting factor.
