Three leading Spanish clubs want to sign Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla this summer, Football Insider understands.

The 32-year-old's future at the Championship giants is in doubt after their failure to secure promotion at the end of the recent campaign.

A source with knowledge of Casilla's situation has told Football Insider he is wanted by a trio of La Liga clubs who have shortlisted him on their summer target lists.

Leeds signed Casilla from Real Madrid in the January window after buying out his contract and agreeing a four-and-a-half year deal worth more than £30,000-a-week.

He was immediately installed as the United number one ahead of Bailey Peacock-Farrell and made 19 appearances before the team suffered play-off heartache last month.

Casilla made a sound impression in the opening months but his wretched performance in the second play-off semi-final against Derby County was strongly criticised by fans and observers.

The former Spain international was number three at Real when Leeds signed him but has extensive experience in the Spanish top flight, including a lengthy period as Espanyol first choice.

Leeds are braced for offers for the keeper even though his contract runs until the summer of 2023.
