Sources: Three clubs make approaches to sign ex-Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge
Three Indonesian clubs have registered interest in signing former Liverpool and Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge, sources have told Football Insider.
The 33-year-old forward has been out of action since being released by Australian side Perth Glory in June 2022.
It is understood that Indonesian sides Persija Jakarta, Persebaya and Dewa United are all showing an active interest in signing the ex-England international.
Sturridge’s 16-year career has been hugely impacted by injuries, and a move to Indonesia would likely be the final move for him before he calls time on his playing career.
Sturridge spent the majority of his playing career in England, starting out at the Manchester City academy in 2003.
He spent a further four years in the club’s youth setup before being promoted to the first team in 2007.
After two years, 32 appearances and six goals for City, Sturridge made a move to Chelsea where he helped the side win the 2009/10 Premier League, 2012 Champions League and two FA Cup titles.
A £12million move to Liverpool followed in 2013 and Sturridge spent six years at Anfield.
After making a superb start to his career at Anfield, Sturridge formed a superb partnership with Luis Suarez and helped the Reds challenge for the Premier League title under Brendan Rodgers.

However, injuries ended up slowing down Sturridge’s progress, with the English forward missing a total of 99 games through injury during his time at the club.
He eventually moved on to Turkish side Trabzonspor on a three-year contract in 2019, but massively struggled for game time. He scored seven goals in 16 games but eventually agreed a mutual termination of his contract.
