Tottenham are have accepted a Paris Saint-Germain bid for Serge Aurier as he closes in on re-signing, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The right-back, 28, enters the final 12 months of his contract in the summer and the club have been willing to let him go rather than lose him on a free next year.

A Spurs source has told Football Insider that a price has been agreed with PSG for Aurier and a return to France is almost done.

It will see him head back to Paris four years after joining for around £23m.

Aurier will also link up again with the French club's manager Mauricio Pochettino even though he was not always first choice at Spurs during the Argentine's reign.

Aurier has been the regular right-back at Tottenham this season despite the signing of Matt Doherty from Wolves last summer for £16m.

Doherty had been expected to supplant the Ivory Coast international but has struggled to make an impact in London.

Instead, Aurier has made 19 Premier League starts among 27 appearances in all competitions.

He has started the last five league matches but his Spurs career is now coming to an end barring any last-minute hitches.

Football Insider revealed in March that the Londoners would look to offload Aurier as Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff regarded him as "uncoachable".

Now in his fourth season at Tottenham, Aurier has failed to eradicate the erratic tackling and positioning that has been a feature of his time at the club.
