Tottenham are in daily dialogue with Radu Dragusin's camp as they accelerate plans to sign him this month, sources have told Football Insider.

Sources have told Football Insider that Ange Postecoglou's side are "calling every day" to get a deal wrapped up early in the January transfer window.

Negotiations between Tottenham and the Serie A side are well underway and it is believed that Dragusin is keen on a move to the Premier League.

Spurs are confident that an agreement can be reached and have explored various methods of securing his signature, including a loan-to-buy, a permanent deal and a loan.

However, Genoa are holding out for a permanent deal and have already rejected a loan bid from the north London side.

The Romanian international has started all of Genoa's games in all competitions this season and has even notched two goals and one assist from the backline.

Tottenham have been blighted by an injury crisis to their defence this season that has forced Postecoglou to field players out of position.

They have been without Micky van de Ven since early November while Cristian Romero has been ruled out for up to five weeks after sustaining a hamstring strain against Everton last week (23 December).

In light of these key absentees, Tottenham are keen to get a deal done quickly and are pushing hard to complete a move as soon as the window opens.
