Sources: Tottenham favourite tells club he wants to follow Kane out and quit by 31 August

Tanguy Ndombele has told Tottenham chiefs he wants to quit the club by the end of the window, Football Insider can reveal.

The Spurs record signing’s future is up in the air going into the final fortnight after he was frozen out of Nuno Espirito’s side.

A Tottenham source has told Football Insider that Ndombele’s position is he wants to leave and that has been the case for some time.

He is believed to have made that clear earlier in the summer and that is a key factor in his current omission.

Ndombele has been frozen out by new manager Nuno even though he is fit and available to play.

The France international trained with the first-team during pre-season but did not appear in any of the summer friendlies and has not been registered for the Europa Conference League.

The Londoners are set to field a second-string side for Thursday’s clash against Portugese outfit Pacos de Ferreira.

Ndombele’s snub has bemused supporters after he was a key player for most of last season and became a favourite for his technical and creativity skills.

Following a troubled debut campaign, the Frenchman made 28 Premier League starts among 46 appearances in all competitions, which yielded six goals and four assists.

But there is now a major question mark over whether he will stay at Spurs beyond the transfer cut-off at a time when Harry Kane is also trying to engineer his exit.

Tottenham signed Ndombele for an initial £54million from Lyon in the summer of 2019.
