Tottenham have identified Julian Nagelsmann as their new first-choice manager target, sources have told Football Insider.

It has been widely reported that the 35-year-old German manager will be sacked imminently at Bayern Munich and Spurs have already started monitoring his situation.

Tottenham are already drawing up a shortlist of candidates to replace Conte long-term and Nagelsmann is now the club's first choice ahead of the likes of Mauricio Pochettino and Luis Enrique.

Spurs attempted to appoint Nagelsmann in 2021 following the sacking of Jose Mourinho, but Bayern beat the Premier League club to his signature.

Chairman Daniel Levy remains a "huge admirer" of Nagelsmann, sources have told Football Insider, and is pushing to sign him immediately after his Bayern exit.

It is understood that if Nagelsmann agrees terms with Spurs, he will join the club in the summer ahead of next season as opposed to taking charge of the current campaign.

Nagelsmann is set to depart Bayern with a win rate of 71.4 per cent, with his side only losing three games across all competitions this season.

His Bayern side boasted a perfect record in the Champions League, winning all eight of their matches so far to reach the quarter-final while keeping seven clean sheets along the way.

Bayern also won the Bundesliga title under Nagelsmann in the 2021/22 season, although they trail rivals Borussia Dortmund by a point this season.
