Tottenham are considering a stunning double swoop on Wolves for Julen Lopetegui and Matt Hobbs to fill their manager and sporting director roles, sources have told Football Insider.

Spurs are still searching for a replacement for Antonio Conte following his sacking in March, while Fabio Paratici resigned as the managing director last month after losing an appeal in Italy against his 30-month ban from the game.

Tottenham are now setting their sights on a potential Wolves double deal that would send shockwaves through the Premier League.

Lopetegui has impressed during his short time in charge of Wolves, leading the club to safety in the Premier League with three games to spare after taking charge when the team were rock bottom of the table.

The Spaniard would tick a lot of boxes for Spurs in their hunt for a new manager as he has managed at the highest level and has now demonstrated his methods can thrive in the Premier League.

Hobbs, who was appointed as Wolves' sporting director last November, is also highly-regarded in footballing circles having worked his way up the ranks at Molineux from the academy to the first-team.

He was instrumental in some key signings in the January transfer window to spearhead Wolves' survival bid following the dismissal of his predecessor Scott Sellars.

Tottenham are in talks with intermediaries and senior figures in football over filling their two high-profile vacancies.

Wolves

The latest significant update follows news last week that Julian Nagelsmann is no longer a top target after talks with the former Bayern Munich manager failed to get off the ground.

Meanwhile, another early contender in the immediate aftermath of Conte's exit, Mauricio Pochettino, is about to be appointed by Chelsea.
