Sources: Tottenham plotting to sign David Raya as Brentford reveal new asking price

Tottenham are plotting a move to sign Brentford goalkeeper David Raya this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Spurs are in the market for a new shot-stopper this summer and have highlighted the 27-year-old Spain international as a top target.

Brentford are keen to keep him at the Gtech Community Stadium but are willing to accept offers of £30million for Raya this summer.

Raya is entering the final year of his contract with the Bees and they would rather sell this summer than risk losing him for free in 2024 when his contract expires.

Football Insider sources revealed on Friday (24 March) that Tottenham are open to selling club captain Hugo Lloris this summer.

Fraser Forster is currently standing in for the injured Frenchman in North London, but Spurs are eager to sign a new starting goalkeeper ahead of next season.

Raya has turned down multiple contract offers from Brentford in recent months, but insists he is ‘happy’ at the Premier League club.

“I don’t think it’s the right time to sign a contract at the moment,” said Raya. “I’m really, really happy and right now I’m just thinking about doing the best for the team and trying to push for Europe.”

Raya has become a key player for Brentford since joining the club in 2019. He has made 149 appearances for the club and kept 51 clean sheets.

He has been in impressive form for Thomas Frank’s side this season, topping the Premier League charts for saves made with 108 in 26 matches.
