Tottenham are keeping tabs on Southampton goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu, sources have told Football Insider.

The 21-year-old Republic of Ireland international is regarded by the Spurs recruitment team as a top prospect.

Club scouts have been closely monitoring Bazunu's progress after he first emerged on their radar last season.

The ex-Man City star fits the profile of player that Spurs are looking to invest in, with the Lilywhites placing an emphasis on signing rising stars with the potential to develop under Ange Postecoglou.

Scouts are said to have been "hugely impressed" by his development, sources say.

Bazunu has played every Championship minute for Southampton so far this season.

He joined the St Mary's Stadium club last summer (2022) from Man City for a reported £15million following a successful loan spell at rivals Portsmouth.

It has been widely reported that City hold the option to buy the goalkeeper back from Southampton.

The 21-year-old struggled in his first season in the Premier League, conceding 61 goals and keeping five clean sheets in 37 appearances across all competitions.

He is under contract with the Saints until June 2027.

Tottenham reshaped their goalkeeping options in the summer window by adding Gugliemo Vicario from Empoli for a reported initial fee of £17.2million.

The 27-year-old, who has ousted Fraser Forster and Hugo Lloris in the Spurs goal, has kept four clean sheets and conceded 15 goals in 12 Premier League outings.
