Sources: Tottenham set sights on signing Edwards after transfer mission
Tottenham have set their sights on signing highly-rated Peterborough teenager Ronnie Edwards, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
A number of top clubs across the country have been tracking the 18-year-old defender, who burst on to the scenes last season, for some time.
A recruitment source has told Football insider that Spurs scouts were among observers watching Edwards in action for Peterborough Under-23s against Watford last week.
They are compiling a dossier on the young centre-back with a view to a potential transfer.
The centre-back’s impressive displays are pushing him closer to becoming a regular in the Posh first team.
He has already played seven times for Peterborough even though he only turned 18 in March.

Edwards has made two appearances for the Championship new boys this season, once in the league and once in the EFL Cup.
The Harlow-born youngster is regarded as one of the best young centre-backs in his age group in the country.
His performances have already alerted Tottenham as well as other Premier League clubs.
Spurs showed with the capture of Joe Rodon from Swansea City last year for £11million rising to £15m that they are willing to invest big sums in top young talent from the Football League.
Edwards joined Peterborough last summer from non-league outfit Barnet.
He then signed a new four-year contract in March of this year that runs until the summer of 2025.
