Tottenham defender Eric Dier has agreed terms with Bayern Munich, sources have told Football Insider.

The out-of-favour Spurs star, 29, is closing in on a sensational move to the German giants in which he will be reunited with former teammate and White Hart Lane legend Harry Kane.

It is believed that Dier has made up his mind to join Bayern in a deal fully endorsed by Kane and it will go through if and when Tottenham complete a new defender signing.

Tottenham are happy to let Dier go with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

However, they will not sanction his move to the Bundesliga champions unless they secure a replacement in the backline.

They have held extensive discussions with the highly-rated Romanian international, who is keen on a move to the Premier League.

Football Insider first revealed on 13th November that Bayern were plotting a surprise January move for Dier.

Now, an agreement is in place regarding personal terms, with the player set to bring down the curtain on a distinguished spell at Tottenham.

Dier has fallen well out of favour in north London and has seen just 198 minutes of action this season despite Spurs' brutal injury crisis.

Long-term absentees Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Ivan Perisic remain unavailable for selection.

Despite his lack of options, Postecoglou has played full-backs out of position rather than the Englishman this season.

Tottenham sit fifth in the Premier League table after their 3-1 win over Bournemouth on New Year's Day and next face Burnley in the FA Cup.
