Man United sent two senior scouts to watch Birmingham City sensation Trevan Sanusi on Monday night, sources have told Football Insider.

The centre-forward, 15, is on the radar of the Premier League elite after he rejected offers from the Championship club of a scholarship contract.

Sanusi is looking to leave Birmingham after he turns 16 next week.

Sanusi's contract rejection has alerted United, who are planning to bid for the rising star in the coming weeks after being hugely impressed by his performances.

Sanusi delivered another eye-catching display for Birmingham's Under-21s against Watford on Monday, with a United source claiming he was "the best player on the pitch by a mile".

But the Premier League giants will face major competition for the youngster.

It is believed that London giants Chelsea and Arsenal are also hot on the trail of the youngster, who is an England youth international capped at Under-16s and Under-15s level.

Chelsea are pushing especially hard for Sanusi and are looking to win the race for his signature.

The youngster has been closely watched in youth-team matches by scouts from Premier League clubs and they have delivered rave reviews to their recruitment departments.

Man United

Sanusi is a versatile forward who can lead the attack in a central role or play out wide.

The Birmingham prospect has been a prolific scorer and creator for his age-group level and is viewed as a future star by a number of clubs.
