Sources: Update on Rangers signing Angus Gunn as £10m price tag revealed

A move to Rangers is increasingly unlikely for Norwich City star Angus Gunn, sources have told Football Insider.

Norwich are likely to demand a fee of £8-£10million for their impressive goalkeeper which could push the Gers out of the race.

The 27-year-old’s current contract at Carrow Road runs until 2025 after joining from Southampton in July 2021.

In February, Football Insider revealed that the Glasgow giants had been well-placed to sign the Scotland international as a result of their strong relationship with the Championship side that helped them bring Todd Cantwell to Ibrox.

Gunn has admirers at the club after an impressive season in the Championship and sporting director Ross Wilson oversaw his arrival at Southampton during his time at the Premier League club.

Gers boss Michael Beale has previously confirmed that funds have been set aside to bring in a new shot-stopper in the summer window as the likelihood that number one keeper Allan McGregor could retire at the end of the season.

The Light Blues also have Jon McLaughlin and Robby McCrorie to choose from between the sticks.

McLaughlin enjoyed a brief spell in the starting XI this season but McGregor has been the preferred choice for the majority of the 2022-23 campaign.

McCrorie, 25, has yet to be given an opportunity in the first team under Beale.

Gunn has made 25 Championship appearances for Norwich this season and has kept seven clean sheets in those outings.

The keeper recently switched loyalties to join Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad and kept two clean sheets in his first two games for the national side, including a historic 2-0 win over Spain.
