Sources: Walton undergoing Ipswich Town medical today after deal agreed
Brighton star Christian Walton is undergoing an Ipswich Town medical today, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The League One outfit have won the race to sign the goalkeeper, 25, after he was made available for transfer by the Premier League outfit.
An Ipswich source has told Football Insider that Walton is set to put the finishing touches to the move after they had a bid accepted by Brighton.
He will join on a permanent deal if the formalities are completed.
There has also been interest this summer in Walton from Norwich, Nottingham Forest, Swansea City, Bournemouth, Derby County and Luton Town.
A deal for the goalkeeper would be a coup for promotion-chasing Ipswich.

Walton is proven at Championship level after making 83 appearances in the second tier for Brighton, Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers.
The once-capped England Under-21 international looks set to depart the Seagulls permanently after seven loan spells away.
His latest temporary switch was at Championship side Blackburn.
The shot-stopper played every league game in 2019-20 as the Lancashire side finished 11th in the table.
Walton has now lost the reserve goalkeeper spot at Brighton after playing second fiddle to Robert Sanchez last season.
Brighton boss Graham Potter has named Jason Steele on the bench for all three Premier League fixtures so far this season.
Walton’s contract at the Amex Stadium is due to expire next summer.
The Truro-born keeper would be the Tractor Boys’ 17th summer addition.
Manager Paul Cook has already strengthened his goalkeeping options with the addition of of Salford’s Vaclav Hladky in July.
The 30-year-old has started each of Ipswich’s five League One fixtures this season.
