Sources: Watford approach Aston Villa about signing Hause
Watford have made a move to sign Aston Villa defender Kortney Hause in January, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The Hornets are weighing up multiple centre-back options as they look to strengthen in defence in the January window.
A Watford source has told Football Insider that Hause, 26, has been added to their target list and they have made an enquiry about a potential January deal.
His contract with Villa is due to expire at the end of the season.
The Vicarage Road outfit need defensive reinforcements to strengthen a back line that has shipped 35 goals from just 17 Premier League matches this term.
Hause is fourth in the centre-back pecking order at Villa behind Tyrone Mings, Ezri Konza and Man United loanee Axel Tuanzebe.

Steven Gerrard regards Mings and Konza as his first choice partnership in the Premier League.
Villa could be tempted into cashing in on former England Under-21 international Hause if they sign a new central defender in January.
Gerrard’s side are in the market for a proven performer capable of slotting straight into their team.
Hause has struggled for game time since since joining from Wolves in the summer of 2019 for a fee of around £3m.
He has played 52 times for the Midlands giants after accumulating 80 appearances for Wolves.
This season, Hause has made six appearances in all competitions.
That includes only three Premier League starts, the last of which came in the 4-1 thrashing by West Ham at the end of October.
