Sources: West Brom make move for Clucas as Stoke City asking price revealed
West Brom have registered their interest in signing Stoke City midfielder Sam Clucas, Football Insider understands.
The relegated Premier League club have set their sights on the 30-year-old as they target an instant return to the top flight.
A club source has told Football Insider that Clucas has entered the final year of his Stoke contract and they are expected to sell if their asking price of around £3million is met.
Stoke are also in advanced talks to sell Clucas’ fellow midfielder Ryan Woods to Birmingham City.
The Potters are looking to trim their wage bill and squad as they prepare for another season in the Championship.
Clucas missed large chunks of last season through injury and only made 24 league appearances for Stoke.

His most recent knock was in February as he had to go under the knife following a double hernia.
However, he still managed to pick up two goals and three assists in all competitions.
The midfielder also captained Michael O’Neill’s side during the first weeks of the season.
Clucas joined Stoke from Swansea in 2018 and has so far made 100 appearances for the club.
His most prolific campaign came in 2019/20 as he scored 11 goals in 46 games in all competitions.
West Brom are looking to rebuild in the Championship after being immediately relegated following their promotion last year.
The club are still looking for a new manager after parting ways with Sam Allardyce at the end of the season.
Allardyce had previously never been relegated from the top flight.
He replaced Slaven Bilic just days after he oversaw a dramatic 1-1 draw with Manchester City at The Etihad.
