West Brom, QPR and Huddersfield are plotting to sign Panama international Freddy Gondola on a January free, Football Insider understands.

The versatile attacker, 26, is out of contract at Venezuelan club Deportivo Tachira at the end of December.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Championship trio West Brom, QPR and Huddersfield Town are eyeing moves for Gondola.

He has played in the Copa Libertadores, scoring three goals and providing one assist in six games and qualifies for the GBE points required to play in the UK.

He is a powerful, direct forward and has scored 11 goals for Deportivo across all competitions this season.

Gondola has mainly operated on the left-wing for Deportivo but is also capable of playing a striker and on the right.

The club won the Primera División final earlier this month (11 December) on penalties.

West Brom are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements with summer loan signing Jordan Hugill out of form.

The 29-year-old has found the net just once in 19 Championship games this term since moving to the Hawthorns on loan from Norwich City.

The Albion have scored three times in their last six games and are in danger of losing touch with the automatic promotion places

QPR and Huddersfield are both a part of the pack chasing the play-offs with QPR just one place and five points behind West Brom in fifth.

Huddersfield are down in 10th but are just two points off the top six.
