Sources: West Brom ready talks to sign Bryan after Sheffield United exit
West Brom are readying talks to sign defender Kean Bryan after he quit Sheffield United over the summer, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The Midlands outfit are in the free agent market for a new centre-back after this site broke the news yesterday afternoon that Dara O’Shea is set to be sidelined until next year with a knee injury.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that West Brom are planning to make a move for Bryan this week.
The 24-year-old is available on a free transfer following his exit from Bramall Lane at the end of June.
United announced that the centre-back was offered an extension to his contract expiring over the summer but knocked it back.
He has yet to find a new club but his lack of ties means he can sign for a team outside of the transfer window.

Bryan has been on West Brom’s radar for some time and, as revealed by this site, he was a target during the window that shut last week.
The defender has been capped by England at Under-19 level and has played 13 times in the Premier League as well as on 50 occasions in League One.
Baggies boss Valerien Ismael is keen to overcome a growing defensive crisis at the Hawthorns.
Summer signing Matt Clarke is already sidelined with a hamstring injury that is expected to keep him out for another month.
