West Brom have rejected an approach from Watford for unsettled defender Craig Dawson and told them it will cost £20million to sign him, Football Insider sources understands.

Dawson’s future has been the subject of speculation all summer following West Brom’s relegation from the Premier League.

West Brom have also rejected several offers from Burnley for Dawson as they battle to keep hold of the 28-year-old.

A well placed source has told Football Insider that Watford are the latest club to express an interest in Dawson, but their overtures have again been rejected by West Brom.

The Midlands club are demanding £20million for the versatile defender, who earns £40,000-a-week.

Dawson is keen on a move away from West Brom before the close of the transfer window and he has not featured for the Baggies in their opening two Championship games.

It remains to be seen if any of Dawson’s suitors will meet West Brom’s valuation of the defender before the close of the transfer window.
