A bid of £30million including add-ons could be enough for West Ham to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Djibril Sow this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Sow will enter the final 12 months of his Frankfurt contract at the end of next month.

Rice is a top target for Arsenal - who are currently leading Premier League rivals in the race for his signature.

The Gunners have also been credited with an interest in Sow.

If Mikel Arteta's side push ahead with a deal for Rice - the door could open to West Ham sealing the signing of the Frankfurt star.

David Moyes’ side have been encouraged by reports which suggest the midfielder is set on leaving the Bundesliga side in the off-season.

Frankfurt will have to cash in on Sow this summer or risk him agreeing a free transfer exit as early as 1 January 2024.

The 26-year-old - who can play in a 'number eight' role as well as in holding midfield, has turned out 41 times this season, scoring four goals.

Beyond star man Rice, Flynn Downes and Tomas Soucek are the only other defensive midfielders on the books at West Ham.

West Ham

Meanwhile, West Ham could again have Europa League football to help lure high-profile summer targets to the London Stadium - if they are victorious in the Europa Conference League.

The Irons are 15th in the Premier League and are close to securing top-flight survival after a rocky 2022-23 campaign.
