West Ham have registered their interest in signing Everton defender Michael Keane in January, sources have told Football Insider.

The Hammers were interested in the centre-back, 29, in the summer, as first revealed by this site, but could not agree a deal.

West Ham are back in for Keane, with manager David Moyes a huge admirer of the experienced Premier League campaigner.

This comes amid doubts over the future of Craig Dawson, who could leave in January if a replacement can be secured.

The Hammers turned their attention to Keane in the summer after losing out to Everton in the race for James Tarkowski.

Everton are willing to listen to offers for Keane and £10million could be enough to seal a winter window deal.

Keane has struggled for minutes this season with Tarkowski and Conor Coady now nailed-on starters under Frank Lampard.

The defender has played just 22 minutes in the Premier League this season, in a game against Brentford on 27 August.

Keane did play 90 minutes in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night (8 November) as the Toffees lost 4-1 to Bournemouth.

Over the previous two Premier League campaigns, Keane only missed nine Premier League games as Everton struggled to stay in the division.

He joined the club in July 2017 and has made 189 appearances for the Goodison Park outfit.

The Toffees face Bournemouth again on Saturday (12 November) this time in the Premier League.

West Ham, meanwhile, face Leicester City on the same day.
