West Ham United rising star Daniel Chesters is close to agreeing the terms of a new contract, Football Insider can reveal.

The attacking midfielder, who turned 18 last month, is on a scholarship deal that expires next month.

A West Ham source has told Football Insider that Chesters had been all set to go but the club have now offered a new deal an an agreement is close.

The teenager has been a mainstay of the club’s Under-18s this season and was also playing for the Under-23s before the lockdown.

In total, Chesters has scored twice and supplied five assists in 24 Under-18s matches for the Hammers and has also played 10 times for the Under-23s.

The likely new deal comes as two of the teen’s fellow academy stars Jeremy Ngakia and Veron Parkes rejected new contract offers from West Ham.

Football Insider revealed earlier this week that forward Parkes, 18, has knocked back a professional deal and could now leave.

He has interest from Scottish giants Celtic, Ligue 1 outfit Monaco, MLS side New York Red Bulls and Dutch duo Fortuna Sittard and Heerenveen.

It has also emerged that Ngakia, 19, has rejected a contract and is in line to leave next month.

The right-back was promoted to the first team with great success earlier this year by David Moyes and delivered two impressive displays against Liverpool among four Premier League starts.

In other West Ham news, it can be REVEALED that a Hammers forward has rejected a new contract.
