West Ham United defender Thilo Kehrer is undergoing a medical at Monaco today (4 January) after agreeing terms on a loan-to-buy deal, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that the 27-year-old has been given the green light by David Moyes' side to head to France and complete the transfer.

Kehrer will join the Ligue 1 club on an initial loan until the end of the season, with Monaco given the option to sign him permanently in the summer.

A full agreement is in place between the clubs and the deal is currently being finalised.

The German international moved to West Ham from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022 for a reported £10.1million on a four-year deal.

He has since made 50 appearances for the Hammers but has fallen down the pecking order this season having played just 18 minutes in the Premier League.

Kehrer has made three starts in the Hammers' Europa League group-stage campaign but has been limited to just 391 minutes in all competitions this season.

He was important in West Ham's successful Europa Conference League triumph last season having made eight appearances, including starting both semi-final legs and coming on in the final.

West Ham sit sixth in the Premier League table after their 0-0 draw against Brighton on Tuesday (2 January) and next welcome Bristol City to the London Stadium in the FA Cup on Sunday (7 January).
