Sources: Wimbledon and Salford in five-club race to sign Brentford forward Pressley

Brentford forward Aaron Pressley is a loan target of multiple League One and League Two clubs this summer, Football Insider has learned.

Pressley is the son of former Scotland international Steven Pressley and is highly regarded at the Premier League new boys after signing a new deal last month.

A source has told Football Insider Fleetwood, AFC Wimbledon, Salford, Forest Green, Stevenage and Leyton Orient have all registered their interest in signing the 19-year-old.

Brentford are happy to loan Pressley out so that he can continue his development next season.

The forward spent the last campaign in the club’s B team and won the players’ player of the season award after scoring 26 goals.

His performances earned him a new two-year deal with a further one-year option.

Pressley began his career with the Heats and Aston Villa academies before moving to Brentford in January 2020.

He was named in the first-team matchday squad on 16 occasions last season and made three substitute appearances.

That included a 26-minute cameo against eventual winners Leicester City in the FA Cup fourth round.

The Edinburgh-born ace did not play a part in the Bees’ play-off campaign as they won promotion to the Premier League for the first time.

Ivan Toney was Thomas Frank’s main man but he was not reluctant to use graduates of the B team.

Emiliano Marcondes was man-of-the-match in the play-off final but was not offered a new contract by the club.

In other news, Brentford have been tipped to sign a Chelsea ace after a key reveal.
