Joao Moutinho has accepted a Wolves contract offer and is set to pen a new deal, Football Insider can reveal.
The midfielder, 33, has been in talks with the club about an extension to replace his current agreement expiring at the end of the campaign.
A Wolves source has told Football Insider that Moutinho has told the club he will accept an offer that includes a pay hike as negotiations are finalised.
An announcement is expected after the international break about a deal set to run until the summer of 2022.
He will be 35 by that point.
Mourinho has made a big impact at Molineux since following countryman Nuno Espirito Santos to the club in the summer of 2018.
Signed for £5million, the 117-times Portugal international has formed an impressive central midfield partnership with Ruben Neves that has been integral to establishing the team in the Premier League.
Moutinho made 39 starts among 44 appearances in all competitions in his debut campaign and has continued to be a regular starter this season.
He has already made 16 appearances this term, including seven starts apiece in the Premier League and Europa League qualifiers and group stage games.
Wolves had a poor start to the new league campaign but consecutive victories before the international break lifted them to 11th in the table.
This included a landmark 2-0 win over champions Manchester City at Etihad Stadium.
