Wolves are in talks to sign striker Danny Ings on loan from West Ham this month, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed the Irons want a loan fee for the 31-year-old and will also demand Gary O'Neil's side cover his wages for the duration of any potential agreement.

Wolves are in the market for an orthodox number nine this month and have already allowed Sasa Kalajdzic to join Eintracht Frankfurt on loan.

West Ham

The Molineux club are keen to bolster their attacking options but don't have the money for a permanent signing due to Financial Fair Play concerns.

Raul Jimenez was among the stars sold by the Midlands outfit last summer to comply with FFP rules.

Hwang Hee-chan and Matheus Cunha have filled the void left by the Mexico international, but the former has headed off to the Asian Cup with South Korea this month.

The ex-RB Leipzig star has hit 11 goals this term and is the top scorer for Wolves ahead of Cunha - who has scored six.

Ings has featured sparingly for West Ham in the 2023-24 campaign despite injury problems for Michail Antonio.

The former England international has made 18 appearances this term but is yet to score or assist in 423 minutes of action.

He joined the Irons just 12 months ago for a reported £15million but has managed just three goals in 40 appearances for David Moyes' side.

Wolves

Wolves sit 11th in the Premier League and are next in Premier League action against Brighton on 22 January.

West Ham are sixth ahead of their next league clash against Sheffield United on 21 January and will play Europa League knockout football from March.
