Sources: Wolves starlet Matheson in advanced talks over new deal
Wolves rising star Luke Matheson is in advanced talks over a new contract, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The versatile defender, 18, has impressed Molineux chiefs since joining last year from Rochdale for around £1million.
A Wolves source has told Football Insider that the club are working on tying the youngster down to a new and improved contract.

He could then go on loan once again after a spell last season at Ipswich Town in League One.
Matheson joined Wolves as a 17-year-old in January 2020 after catching the eye at Rochdale.
The teenage full-back made headlines in September 2019 after scoring as a 16-year-old in a League Cup clash with Manchester United.
He played 31 times for Rochdale’s senior side before signing for Wolves.
However, he spent the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign on loan with the Dale.
Matheson spent the first half of last season with Wolves’ under-23s before he joined Ipswich on loan in the winter window.
However, he managed to play just twice for the Tractor Boys as injury niggles limited his availability.
Wolves are keen to tie him down to a new long-term deal before possibly sending him out again before the August 31 deadline.
A move back to League One, where he has 25 appearances under his belt, seems likely.
Matheson is yet to make his senior debut for Wolves and has not been on the bench for a matchday.

He has played 14 times for the club’s under-23 side so far, including twice this term.
A versatile full-back, Matheson has also featured in more advanced role on the right-hand flank.
