Leicester City's hierarchy are set to grant Steve Cooper more time to turn results around amid growing concerns at the King Power.

This is according to former Man United and Blackburn Rovers chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the players have struggled with the step up to this level.

It is said there has been recognition that the season was always likely to be difficult given the gap between the Championship and the Premier League.

However, many behind the scenes at the club are growing impatient and will demand to see significant improvements in the coming weeks.

There have also been concerns that the players have not bought into the manager's style, making the transition to Premier League football more difficult.

Leicester City make immediate Steve Cooper sack decision

Brown, who spent over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted that the points Leicester have picked up so far will be enough to keep the manager in the job for the time being.

However, he also warned that the boss must find more consistent results or he will face the sack.

"Leicester were the favourites to go down before a ball was kicked," he told Football Insider.

"That jump from the Championship to the Premier League is a big one.

"So yes, they were excellent in the Championship under a different coach, but plenty of teams are excellent in the lower division and struggle at this level.

"Maybe that's caught some of the players by surprise, but it's no surprise to me that they've struggled.

"The owners are aware of that and that's why he's been given more time than people expected.

"Results haven't been good enough, but they have picked up points. They're above teams that you wouldn't necessarily think they'd be above at this stage.

"At the end of the day, he'll have to turn results around because it's a results game.

"That's the way things work at this level, you either win games or they find someone else who can.

"But for now I think he's going to be given a bit more time. At least for the immediate future."
