Should Steven Gerrard accept the job and take over from Graeme Murty by becoming the new Rangers manager, his first job needs to be ripping up the contract of midfield mess Carlos Pena.
Liverpudlian legend Gerrard is said to be the frontrunner for the position and the job is his if he wants it but he should take no mercy with the loanee.
The 28-year-old hot-footed it to Mexican side Cruz Azul in December on loan where he joined forces with ex-Gers boss Pedro Caixinha.
But after his latest incident, he is thought to have been sacked by the club.
Pena was reportedly caught urinating in a fountain outside in his team’s hotel and after making just two starts for Azul, they have shown him the exit for “alcohol abuse.”
The debacle comes on the back of being caught purchasing a six-pack of beer whilst wearing his team’s training kit.
It’s likely that the midfielder will now return to the Scottish Premiership but Gerrard has to show he means business and won’t accept any kind of nonsense by telling the player he has no future at Ibrox.
There’s unlikely to be any takers for the washed-up footballer which means the Liverpool legends one and only option will be to rip up his contract, showing that he’s a man who won’t take any nonsense.
