Steven Gerrard will become father to his fourth child, his wife revealed on Twitter and the news was received with much excitement from supporters.

The former Liverpool captain became a father to his second daughter, Lexie ten years ago, just months after lifting the Champions League under Rafa Benitez.

The 36 year-old celebrated the birth of his first child, Lilly-Ella 12 years ago and welcomed Lexie before youngest, 4 year-old Lourdes was born.

His wife, Alex Gerrard revealed the news on Twitter by sharing a picture of their three daughters pouring over images of an ultrasound.

The family moved to Los Angeles in 2015 following Gerrard’s departure from Liverpool as he signed for LA Galaxy’s MLS side.

Gerrard has made 18 appearances for the American soccer team but has hinted at his resignation following the end of this season.

The Anfield legend made 710 appearances for Liverpool, the third highest in the club’s history behind Ian Callaghan and Jamie Carragher.

Supporters were quick to offer their congratulations but after three daughters, they couldn’t resist hoping for a boy…
