Leeds have confirmed that they have completed the signing of former Newcastle full-back Vurnon Anita.
The Whites announced in posts on their official Twitter account and official website on Thursday that the 28-year-old had penned a three-year contract at Elland Road on a free transfer after he was released by Championship title-winners Newcastle last month.

Anita has become Leeds’ sixth summer signing as their stunning transfer blitz continues to gather momentum under new manager Thomas Christiansen.
The former Ajax man, who can also play in a defensive midfield role, joins Pontus Jansson, Hadi Sacko, Mateusz Klich, Madger Gomes and Felix Wiedwald in agreeing terms to sign for the Yorkshire giants.
Anita brings to Elland Road a wealth of experience of the top two tiers of English football after spending five years on Tyneside with Newcastle.
He made 155 appearances across all competitions for the Magpies and played a pivotal role in helping them win the Championship title last season.
Despite his utility man role, the three-times Netherlands international played 31 times in all contests during the 2016/17 campaign as he played predominantly at right-back in the absence of DeAndre Yedlin.
Football Insider Verdict
Anita didn’t seem to be very highly rated by Newcastle fans until they learned that he was going to be leaving them this summer. The Dutchman played a crucial squad-player role in Rafa Benitez’s team, but he’d be expected to become Christiansen’s first choice right-back in the near future. Anita is a true professional, he rarely lets the pressure get to him and despite finding life at St. James’ Park hard some times, he never made a fuss about his situation. Leeds look to have sorted out some good deals this summer and Anita is probably one of the best new arrivals yet. He will definitely be eager for another Championship title medal.
