Talk of Kennedy landing Celtic job is off the mark as it will go to proven operator - pundit
Alan Hutton has tipped John Kennedy to leave Celtic when Neil Lennon's replacement is appointed.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland defender suggested the Hoops would look to bring in an experienced manager and a whole new backroom team.
Kennedy, Lennon's assistant manager, has taken interim charge of the Bhoys following the Northern Irish boss' resignation last week.
Forced to retire from playing at just 26, Kennedy started his post-playing career as a scout at Celtic before joining the coaching staff.
However, Hutton, who remains well connected in his native Glasgow and is close to senior figures at Rangers and Celtic, has suggested there could be a complete shakeup of the coaching staff.
Hutton told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge: "There's talk of Kennedy getting the job. Personally, I'm not so sure.
"Is he ready for that size of job on his own? I'm not sure. I mean it's difficult for me to tell, I don't know exactly what he does daily.
"Normally when a manager comes in, especially experienced managers, they like to have their own team round about them.
"There is the odd occasion that they might have somebody from the previous reign.
"However, you would think if somebody was coming in of that experience, they would bring a whole new management team and start the rebuild fresh.
"Fresh ideas, new faces, everything and start anew."
